Vizhinjam Coastal Police Staion Rescued four fishermen from Sea

An information received this station from the Police Control Room, Tvpm city, around 6PM on 09/06/2017, that one fisherman has been fell in the sea near Poonthura, Cheriyamuttom. It was also informed that other three fishermen who jumped into the sea to rescue the fisherman are also in danger. The boat patrolling party who were on routine patrolling at Kovalam area was directed for rescue operation. The patrolling team rushed to the spot and rescued the four fishermen. Jerald age-34, S/o Jerom , Poonthura native, was the fisherman who fell in the sea accidently who was standing near the shore. Victor, age-57 S/o Alias, Shalon, age-24, S/o Clement and Joseph age-29, S/o Nazarath were the fishermen who jumped in to the sea to rescue the above fisherman. Due to the rough sea they were not in a position to swim back to the shore. The rescued four fishermen were taken to Costal police station Vizhinjam and handed over to their relatives. The boat patrolling team GASI-Jayakumar and GASI-Rajendran along with boat crews Fernandes (Boat Syrang), Dickson (Marine Home Guard), Chrisantius , Home Guard-194 of this station have done good work in rescuing the above four fishermen.
