Tourist Boat Rescued by Vizhinjam Coastal Police

An information received at this station around 6.30 PM on 27/03/2016 about the engine failure of one speed boat with five tourists including a child around 1 NM away from Vizhinjam sea and the speed boat was flowing in the sea. Boat patrolling party GASI-Jayakumar, SCPO-1179 Radhakrishnan and CPO-3526 Sabu with boat crews rushed to the spot and rescued four Delhi native tourists and a 3 years old child with them. The tourists and the boat driver were rescued by the patrolling party and they were taken to the shore in the interceptor boat of this station. The speed boat named Niyas was towed to Vizhinjam Harbour by the patrolling team. The rescued tourists were Shathiv Goswamy,age-40, Semira Goswamy, age-3, SN.Mithal, age-74,Indhu Mithal, age-74, Amuja mithal,age-35 and the boat driver Noushad, age-27. The speed boat was its journey with the tourists from Kovalam Sea Rock beach to Vizhinjam harbor. The boat patrolling team GASI-Jayakumar, SCPO-1179 Radhakrishnan and CPO-3526 Sabu have done good work in this regard.
