Rescued damaged fishing boat from Sea

An information received at this station over telephone at 08.30Hrs on 16/05/2016 from one Pushparaj residing near Vizhinjam Church that one fishing boat is flowing in the sea due to water entering in the boat by the damage happened to the boat due to the rough sea. The fishermen were on their way for fishing from Vizhinjam Harbour. Boat patrolling party GASI-M.Jayakumar, CPO-3979 Shibu with boat crews were directed for rescue operation. The rescue team found the boat around 3NM from Vizhinjam harbor and rescued Paniyadima, the owner of the fishing boat named Sindhu Yatra Matha, along with other five fishermen on board named Antony, Wilfred, Jose, Rejon and Kumar. Due to the rough sea and strong waves the bottom of the boat was damaged and through a small hole water was entering in side the boat. The damaged fishing boat was towed to Vizhinjam Harbour by the rescue team. The rescue team GASI-M.Jayakumar, CPO-3979 Shibu of this station have done good work in this regard.
