Chirayinkeezhu murder: one arrested July 05, 2016 Murugan had hacked to death Dileep, 30, at Nainamkonam Polayil around 4.30 p.m. on Friday. Dileep, who was back home from the Gulf on holiday, was riding a motorcycle when he was stopped and hacked to death by Murugan. While Murugan fled from the spot, Chirayinkeezhu people rushed Dileep to the Chirayinkeezhu taluk hospital but he could not be saved. The alleged illicit relations that Dileep had with Murugan’s wife were the reason behind the murder. Money sent by Murugan to his wife had also been passed on by her to Dileep. Following a tip-off received by Thiruvananthapuram Rural District Police Chief K. Shefeen Ahamed, a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police R. Chandrasekharan Pillai made the arrest.
