WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE A VICTIM OF CYBER FRAUD
1. Call Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930
Dial 1930 immediately.
Faster reporting increases the chance of freezing the fraudulent transaction.
2. Report on National Cyber Portal
File a complaint at:
cybercrime.gov.in
Upload all details: screenshots, phone numbers, transaction IDs, chats, and payment proofs.
3. Inform Your Bank
Contact your bank right away and request:

Transaction dispute

UPI/block
-
Freeze beneficiary account (if possible)
4. Preserve Evidence
Do NOT delete:
-
WhatsApp/Telegram chats
-
SMS alerts
-
Screenshots
-
Phone numbers
-
Bank messages
These are required for investigation.
5. Do NOT Pay Again
Fraudsters often try “second attempt” scams such as:

Refund scam
-
Verification scam
-
Account recovery scam
Ignore and block such calls/messages.
6. File a Police Complaint
Contact the nearest Police Station or Cyber Crime Police Station with all documents for further action.
