The station was opened on 01.03.2006 as per GO (MS).No. 36/2006, Home Dated 25.02.2006 in Health Department Building No. XV/20 of Maranalloor Village which was handed over to the Police Department by the Maranalloor Grama Panchayath for opening Maranalloor PS. No Quarters are available in this Station. As per GO (MS).No. 36/2006, Home Dated 25.02.2006 up graded the existing police Out post at pongummoodu to a charging police station By Name maranalloor police station
