Accused arrested in job fraud case

The Medical College police on Friday(20.01.17) arrested a 40-year-old man, who had allegedly duped several persons after promising them jobs at Airport Cargo wing here as well as at Medical College Hospital. The police identified the accused as Sunil Kumar, 40, of Vellamkudi near Kallara under Pangode police station limits outside the city. The accused often targeted people who visited Medical College Hospital. He would approach them introducing himself as a health inspector and offer them get jobs at Airport Cargo division and also in Medical College Hospital using his influence. Besides duping money from his victims, the accused also tried to sexually exploit several woman, whom he trapped. He would secure their id proofs in the pretext of applying for jobs and then would check into lodges located near the hospital using those documents. He would then coax the women to come to the room or else he would inform their spouses that they were in an extramarital relationship. He would threaten to use the evidence of booking rooms using the women's id proofs as an evidence of their extramarital relationship. He recently tried to threaten the wife of an expatriate in this manner, but she promptly sought the help of the police. The police nabbed him from the lodge room.
