Theft case

Four people, including a scrap shop owner, were arrested in connection with the theft of construction materials worth around ₹3 lakh that were being used for the construction of a water reservoir at Pottumugal in the Valakom area on the Muvattupuzha–Valakom route.

The arrests were made by an investigation team led by Anil George, Inspector of Muvattupuzha Police.

The accused are Shameer (46), a scrap shop owner from Mulavoor, and three 18-year-olds from Valakom — Basil, Adarsh, and Ashwin.

In connection with the case, social background reports were also prepared against four juveniles involved in the incident.
