An interstate migrant worker was arrested in Nedumbassery with 6.5 kilograms of ganja. The accused, Babul Mitra (41), a native of Alipore in West Bengal, was taken into custody by the Ernakulam Rural District DANSAF and Nedumbassery Police.

The ganja, which was allegedly being transported for sale in the Marampilly area of Aluva, was seized from a bus stop near the Athani Airport Signal Junction in Nedumbassery.

According to the police, he purchased the ganja in West Bengal and traveled by train, getting down at Coimbatore. From there, he reached Athani by bus.
