Operation Toofan: Couple Arrested with Hybrid Cannabis Worth Approximately ₹18 Crore

As part of Operation Toofan, a couple was arrested with hybrid cannabis worth approximately ₹18 crore. The accused have been identified as Ayush (39) and his wife, Anika (30), residents of Njarakkal.

The couple was apprehended by the Ernakulam Rural District DANSAF Team.

During a vehicle inspection conducted on Wednesday evening at Marampilly, police intercepted Ayush while he was allegedly transporting 1.166 kilograms of hybrid cannabis on a motorcycle.

A subsequent search of the couple's apartment in the Kunnuvazhi area led to the seizure of an additional 16 kilograms of hybrid cannabis. In total, the police seized over 17 kilograms of hybrid cannabis, with an estimated market value of around ₹18 crore.
