Woman Arrested for Allegedly Defrauding Men Through Matrimonial and Social Media Platforms

A woman accused of cheating several men by promising marriage or offering business partnerships through matrimonial websites and social media platforms has been arrested by the Perumbavoor Police.

The accused has been identified as Shamla Shameer (29), a native of Edathala.

She was arrested in connection with a case involving the alleged cheating of a man from Manjappetty, Vazhakulam, from whom she is accused of fraudulently obtaining ₹50 lakh. According to the police, she allegedly collected money from multiple victims under different names by falsely promising marriage or business partnerships after contacting them through matrimonial websites and social media.
