Punaloor Railway P S Police Station

Railway Police Station, Punalur  is inaugurated by Sri. M.K Joseph IPS Director General of Police  Kerala on 15.05.1986. The station was opened with strength of 1 SI, 4 HCs, 15 PCs and 1 driver with a jeep.  Then the strength hiked to 1 SI, 4 SCPOs. 20 CPOs, 2 WCPOs and 1 Driver at the station.   Punalur Railway police station is in Kollam district sharing the boundary of Tamilnadu.  Train route through Punalur is commissioned in 1907 as metre gauge and many  people approached this route for their journeys to Tamilnadu and even to Sri Lanka. The boundary of Railway Police Station Punalur starts from tunnel at Aryankavu to Kilikollur via, Edappalayam, Kazhuturutty, Thenmala, Ottakkal, Edamon,Punalur, Avaneeswaram, Kottarakkara, Ezhukone , Kundara etc railway stations. Most of the route is covering in Ghat section.
