JURISDICTION

The boundary of Railway Police Station, Punalur starts from tunnel at Aryankavu in  Km- Q 681/1.2  to Km Q-758/6 extend from Aryankavu to Kilikollur via, Edappalayam, Kazhuturutty, Thenmala, Ottakkal, Edamon,Punalur, Avaneeswaram, Kottarakkara, Ezhukone , Kundara etc railway stations.

This jurisdiction of  the railway Police extends over the area included within the boundary of the Railway line and covered by stations, station yards and goods shed and this area is called ‘The railway limits’.  This jurisdiction does not extend to the lands occupied by the dwelling for the railway staff in or outside the railway limits.  The boundary of the railway line means the area to a distance of 10 feet on either side from the centre of the track.
