Vandiperiyar Police Station

Vandiperiyar Police Station is housed in the outpost of Peermade Police Station in Survey no 67/12 of periyar village. The building was the OP till 05/11/1954 and this OP of Peermade Police Station was opened in 1928 in the Vandiperiyar Town. The extend of the compound is only 16 cents of land. This is situated on the side of Kottayam Kumily road in the heart of Vandiperiyar Town.The station was shifted to the newly constructed building No 4/13 in survey No 140/61 of Manjumala village near Spencer Junction. Vandiperiyar Police Station as per Govt Notification No 211/Home/ dtd 11.05.1964 (A13(C)3043/64 K dtd 15.05.1964) at 10.00 am. The Extend of the compound is only 5 acres 42 cents. The Above 16 cents of land was handed over to Excise Department. Before forming the Idukki district the Vandiperiyar with in the Kottayam District. Vandiperiyar Police Station was shifted to the new building on 15.12.2000. Respected Director General of Police Sri B S Sasthry IPS was inaugurated the new building No VII/700-A of Vandiperiyar Gramapanchayath of Peermade Taluk vide Govt Rt 4690/2000dtd 28/11/2000.
