Cherpulassery Police Station

As per the records available, in the early beginnings of 1900, exactly before the year 1924, before the independence of India and under the rule of British Government, Cherpulassery Police Station has been started at Kacherikunnu, Cherpulassery. Cherpulassery was the Head Quarters of Valluvanad. In earlier days Government institutions like Magistrate Court, Registrar Office, Police Station etc. were being functioned in the common single place which was known as Kacheri and where Govt proceedings and lawsuits were prevailed. Due to this and also the geological features of this particular place, it was called Kacherikunnu (Station Hill)
