Chittar police station was opened on 01.06. 1968 vide GO (Rt) 820/68 home dated 29.05.1968. and shifted to government building on 28.08.1981 vide GO[Rt] No 1967/81/Home dated 21.08.81 and building No 83 ward II of Chittar Gramma Panchayath in survey No 968/2 in Chittar- Seethathodu Village and the land is 5 acre.
