Kadakkal Police Station

Kadakkal Police Station is situated eastern part of the Kollam Rural District. This station shares its boundaries with Thiruvananthapuram District. Kadakkal is well known for social revolutionary activities held in the pre-independence period of  India. Kadakkal  Devi Temple is an important landmark in the Police Station limit and is popular for the Thiruvathira festival.  The “Cave temple” at Kottukkal is another landmark in this Police Station limit and it is a rock-cut architecture built between the 6th and 8th centuries. Kadakkal, Ittiva, Kottukkal, Mancode, and some parts of Kummil village from the geographical area of this station. The station situated adjacent to the Thenkasi. Thiruvananthapuram State highway and Parippally-Madathara PWD Road. A historical Martyr Monument is situated at Kadakkal market junction named as ‘Kadakkal Viplava Smarakam’ is another Land Mark of Kadakkal. This Station was an outpost of Kottarakkara Police Station till 01.07.1950, the OP was upgraded into Charging Station as per G.O No. H-2/1912 Dated 01.07.1950.
