The jurisdiction  of Kolavallur Police Station consists of 2 Panchayaths i.e. 1.Kunnothuparmab and Trippangotur  and   Villages 1.Kolavallur and Trippangottur .As per senses on 2011 the total population is 49800 and it is a political and communal sensitive area. This police station area 47.66 Sq.km  Kolavallur Police Station started  functioning on 02.11.1959 as per GO(MS) No.665/Home(A)59. .The Police station presently working in the new govt  building   from  26.03.1988 vide GO(RT)No.382/88 /Home dated 28.01.1988
