Kuzhalmannam Police Station

During the year 1968, Kuzhalmannam Police station has been started its functioning at Kuzhalmannam just adjacent to Thrissur – Palakkad National Highway. The area of Kuzhalmannam Police Station was Kottayi, Chambrakulam, Thachankad, Mathur, Varode, Pulinelli, Bemmaniyur, Perungottukurissi, Tholanur, Kuzhalmannam, Kuthanur, Chenganiyur, Pallanchathanur, Kannanur, Thenkurissi, Kalappetty, Perumkunnam, Vilayannur and Vilayanchathanur. A new building has been provided for functioning of Kuzhalmannam Police station in the 6th ward of Kuzhalmannam Panchayath as on 24.03.1985. After the formation of Kottayi Police Station Varode, Pulinelli, Bemmaniyur, Perungottukurissi, Tholanur etc places included into Kottayi Police Station Jurisdiction The first Sub Inspector of Kuzhalmannam Police Station was Shri. P.T. Zachariah and the first Circle Inspector was Sri. Sankaran Nambiar. At present Kuzhalmannam Police Station is functioning in a rented building at Kuzhalmannam old Chandapura junction within Alathur Taluk and Kuzhalmannam Village from june 2013 since the old station building has been completely demolished in connection with the widening of Thrissur – Palakkad National Highway. There are 4 border Police stations 1. North Border is Town South Police Station 2. South Border is Alathur Police Station 3. East Border is Pudunagaram Police Station 4. West Border is Kottayi Police Station. Kuzhalmannam Circle Inspector’s office is functioning nearly 400 meters far from Kuzhalmannam Police Station.
