Mangalapuram Police Station

Mangalapuram Police Station is one of the sensitive police station in Thiruvananthapuram Rural which came in exist on 1.04.1969.Police station is situated in Mangalapuram junction near the side of NH 47in veilore village and is 4Km far away from Thiruvananthapuram city border. Mangalapuram police station falls within the four villages namely Veilore village Melthonnakkal Village ,Pallipuram village ,Andoorkonam village. The concerned Juisdiction Court is Hon'ble Judicial First Class Majistrate Court II, Attingal. Mangalapuram police station was opened on 01/04/1969 at 10.50 AM . under the auspices of Sri. Bhavadasan Namboothiri, Superiendent of Police, TVPM Rural vide order No. Go. 493/69/ Home Dated 21/03/1969.The New station is housed in a rented building in Melthonnakkal Village. The new police station has jurisdiction of six villages and Two Karas of Azhoor village.Formerly at Mangalapuram there was an Out post called Thonnakkal OP under Kazhakuttom Parent station. This out post was upgrade into a charging station with effect from 1.04.1969. The new police station is housed in a rented building in Melthonnakkal village. The new police station has a jurisdiction of six villages and two karas of Azhoor village namely Veilore village, Melthonnakkalvillage, Andoorkonam village, Ayiroorapara village, Kadinamkulam village, Pallipuramvillage and Azhoor,Perunguzhi Karas. Sri.Arulappan Nadar SI of Police took charge as Sub Inspector in Mangalapuram police station. Mangalapuram police station had two out posts under it namely Kadinamkulam Out Post and PothencodeOut Post .The Kadinamkulam Out Post up graded into aCharging Police station known as Kadinamkulam police station vide order No GO(Rt) 24/79/Home dtd 5.01.1980. The existing pothencode Out post up graded into a charging police station known as Pothencode police station vide order No GO(Rt) 2984/2006/Home dtd 18.12.2006.Finally the jurisdiction area of Mangalapuram police station is rescheduled as Veiloor village , Melthonnakkal village Pallipuram village Andoorkonam village.
