Mannar Police Station

The Manar Police Station in Alappuzha District was opened on 16/08/1960 vide Govt. order No. G.O. MS No. 488 Dated 28/07/1960, published in Police Gazette No. 33 Dated 12/08/1960. Formerly the functioning of the Police Station was in an old bulding. Now it is functioning in a new building bearing building No. V/1046(A) in ward No. V of Mannar Grama Panchayath comprising in Re- Survey No. 14/2 of Kurattissery Village vide G.O. (Rt.) No. 286/2013/Home Dated 21/10/2013. The new building was inaugurated by Sri. Ramesh Chenithala, Hon'ble Minister for Home and Vigilance, Kerala on 25.02.2014. Mannar is a beautiful land in Alappuzha District which is well known for the making of Bronze and Brass products. The famous "Aranmula Valkkannadi" is also being made in Mannar. Mannar is one of the boarders of Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta District. The rushy Thiruvalla - Kayamkulam Highway is passing through Mannar. Mannar Police Station have the jurisdiction of Mannar, Budhanoor and Chennithala - Thripperunthura Gramapanchayaths comprising of 50 wards. This is a heavily populated area in Alappuzha District. Mannar Police Station was upgraded to Janamaithri Police Station recently.
