Biju Sebastian, a notorious thief who was recently released from jail, has been arrested on 04/06/2021 in connection with a series of robberies in central Travancore. He was arrested in a case registered for stealing Rs 20,000 from the crucifix of Mannar Kuttamperur Muttel Church. After his release from jail, he had committed several thefts in Venmani, Chengannur, Aranmula and Koipram police station limits. Biju, who was released from Thiruvananthapuram Central Jail on February 24 after being convicted in a case of Adoor police station, was seen wandering around Chengannur, Harippad and Thiruvalla. A native of Pothencode, Thiruvananthapuram, his wife and children have been separated for years. The first theft was the theft of a bicycle with a relative at the age of eighteen. In the last 30 years, there have been about 200 thefts in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts.
