Poonthura Police Station

The Police Station stays within the coastal area of Thiruvananthapuram with a high population density of People who are very sensitive innature. Devoted places like Beemapally Durga Sheriff, Poonthura St Thomas Church, Vaduvathu Vishnu Temple etc are located within its jurisdiction. This station was formerly an outpost of Fort Police Station. Consequent to the re-organisation of the City Police, this out post was upgraded in to a charging station from 15.11.62 vide GO (MS) 575/Home.(D)Dept. dated.12.11.1962 and named as “POONTHURA POLICE STATION”. Formerly Poonthura Police Station was situated on the eastern side of the Ambalathara Cheriamuttam Road near to ST. Thomas Church of Poonthura. On 03.11.1969, the station was shifted to a new building constructed on the eastern side of the Poonthura Ambalathara Road near Sree Moolam Lock vide GO. (RT) 1772/69 Home dated 1969 and shifted on 03.12.1969.
