Thiruvananthapuram Railway Police Station started vide Govt. Order No.23/07/1956, GO (Rt) 1004/Home dated 28.05.1956.  This station jurisdiction comes within the Railway Stations, Kappil to Nemom.  There are 23 bridges, 6 over bridges, 48 level crossings and 70 culverts.

Thiruvananthapuram Railway Police Station is functioning in a Railway Building No. TC 38/19 situated in Survey Nos. 2704/2, 2705/1, 2706A, B1 and 2707/1 of Thycadu village as per notification No: G.O (Rt) No. 2215/92/Home dtd 11.5.1992.
