Venjaramoodu Police Station
Venjaramoodu Police station was opened on 24.08.1960 as per G O (Rt) No. 1051/Home (D) 01/08/1960 .On 24/08/60 (Wednesday) at 3 PM Sri. Atchuthan the then Hon’ble Minister for Transport Kerala opened the charging police station at Venjaramoodu in a rented building . There was a very grand opening function as managed by the local public . The superintendent of Police , the Asst. collector and other officials attended the function .The then M.L.A Sri N Kunjuraman addressed the gathering of about 500 people and spoke on the subject “Public and Their Police”. The hon’ble minister also spoke on the occasion and stressed the necessity of co-operation and mutual understanding that should exist between Police and public. Charge of the station was handed over to the SI of police of the station Sri M Kochukrishnapillai. Venjaramoodu Police Station new building was inaugurated by Sri . K Karunakaran , the then Hon’ble Home Minister of Kerala on 24.01.1977 at 05.15 PM as per GO (Rt) No 1157/77/Home dated 21.01.1977. Sri. V N Rajan Inspector General of Police, Kerala presided on the occasion . In exercise of the powers conferred by clause 5 of sub section I of section IV of the criminal procedures code Act VI of 1898. The Government of Kerala declared that building No NP1/94 in survey No . 1054/6 and 1058/3/3 at Venjaramoodu in Nellanadu village shall be a charging Police Station with jurisdiction over villages (1) Nellanadu(2) Vamanapuram(3) Manikkal(4) Pullampara(5) Koliakode of Nedumangadu Taluk, Thiruvananthapuram District .
