Station formed on 20.02.2016. Cherupuzha is primerly an agriculture-centered place in the northern side of Kannur district.This station is situated in Kerala-karnataka boarder.Maoist activities were seen in this station limit especially in Kanam Vayal Colony.'Kottathalachi Mala' is a famous Christian pilgrim centre,'Pulingome Makham' is a holy shrine of Muslims , 'The River Tejaswini' is a famous rafting place etc situated in this limit.
