Fortkochi Coastal Police Rescued many Passengers

One fishing boat collided with a passenger boat on 26/08/2015 near Fort Kochi, boat jetty and 11 passengers died in that accident. Rescue operation was successfully conducted by the Police Personnel of Coastal Police Station, along with the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Enforcement. The Coastal Police and the Coast Guard and the Indian navy displayed tremendous team spirit and mobilized 16 Boats, 2 Helicopters, 2 dredgers and 2 diving teams within less than one hour which helped in saving many lives and a good example of excellent synergy between the Coastal Security Stake holders which is the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard abd the Kerala Coastal Police. The rescue operation was led physically on the spot by the then Head of Coastal Police Sri. B S Mohammed Yasin IPS assisted by Sri. S Surendran IPS, AIG Coastal Security.
