KELAKAM Police Station

The Station was an Out post Under Peravoor Police Station opened on 16.12.1960 asper GO RT No 1637/Home/Dtd:12.12.1960. It was converted as Police Station on 01.04.1972 asper GO RT 431/Home/Dtd 14.03.1972 at a Private rented Building at Manjalampuram.It was converted as Police Station on 01.04.1972 asper GO RT 431/Home/Dtd 14.03.1972 at a Private rented Building at Manjalampuram.The New police Station Building was Opend on 25.05.1990 vide Notification No.GO/RT/No.2354/90 t Period. Kelakam and Kotiyoor arears are the immigration land in previous days, mainly from Tiruvithamkoor .Kelakam PS situating very near to Kelakam Town.The station is surrondered by hills of Eastern ghat. Well renowned as Dakshina Kashi,Kottiyoor siva Temple on the bank of river Bavali is situating in Kelakam station limit and number of other Temples such as Moorchilakkattu Bhagavathi Temple,Kanichar Subhramanya Temple and Famous Kelakam St.thomas Orthadox church,Kelakam Sanjos church etc also situating in Kelakam station area . Kelakam Police station is the boarder station of Kannur District to Wayanadu Dist. More than 70 numbers of tribal colonies are situating in Kelakam PS limit.
