VAZHIKKADAVU POLICE STATION

                  Date of opening     -   25.10.1972 vide   GO No. 1516/72/Home/10.10.1972     at Marutha.     Marutha Police Station shifted from Marutha to  Vazhikkadavu on 23.12.1975  and functioning in the Building No VP 3/357 known as VAZHIKKADAVU POLICE STATION as per notification GO(Rt) No 2469/75/Home dtd 02.12.1975

                     Vazhikkadavu Police Station situated in 100 mts  Distance from Vazhikkadavu Panchayathaqngadi with south east direction.  And this  Police Station also boarder station of Nilgiri District, Tamilnadu State.    This Police Station opened on 22 April 1990 inaugurated by Sri. MK Dhanadan, Dy. Superintendent of police Perinthalmanna at 11 am .  Sri. Muhammed was the Sub Inspector of Police on the starting period of thennew building of the VAZHIKKADAVU POLICE STATION.  

                   The Police Station Limit has an area of 114 Sq, Kms.   There is only one village under Vazhikkadavu panchayath of Nilambur taluk.   The station is bordering with  Tamilnadu  at Nadukani.    The station jurisdiction is also covering a large area of forest at its North, west and eastern side.    One inter state road is passing  through the limits of this Police Station connecting Ootty with Malappuram district.  Many number of tribal settlement colonies are situated in the limits of Police Station especially  Puchakkolly and Aalakkal Colonies.   There is a check post complex functioning at Anamary of Sales Tax, Excise, Forest and Motor Vehicle department.
