Viyyur police saved the life of a young man from the brink of death.

At 1.30 am today, a telephone call came to the Viyur police station. A man has attempted suicide at the Ponganamkadu paint godown. You have to save him somehow.The information was conveyed to Sub-Inspector Pradeep Kumar, who was on night patrol duty, from the police station. At that time, Pradeep Kumar and his gang were patrolling a few kilometers away from Ponganamkadu. The vehicle was immediately returned to the scene.When we got there, a lorry was parked inside the paint godown. The torch proved to be all over the place. It was at this point that the a squeal heard from lorry's driver cabin. The torch light fell there. The cabin of the vehicle, which was locked from the inside, was smashed with an iron rod.Inside was a man lying unconscious with his arm amputated and bleeding. An ambulance was immediately called and he was rushed to a hospital in Thrissur. The young man, who sought treatment in the ICU, remained in the hospital until he recovered from his injuries. The relatives were called in the morning and passed the information A young man from Kozhikode and a lorry driver tried to commit suicide following a family quarrel. The lorry owner, who somehow came to know about the incident, called the police. Timely police intervention and response was what saved this life.
