VAZHAKKAD Police Station

Vazhakkad police station was started on 12-03-1993 in a rented building of Darul uloom near Vazhakkad town.The jurisdictional area of the station contains the entire panchayath of Vazhakkad, Vazhayoor and 12 wards in Cheekode panchayath.The area contained 6138.7314 Hector land .The Village wise station jurisdiction is as follows, Vazhakka Village-Cheruvattur, Vazhakkad,Valillapuzha, Elamaram, Pancheeri, Vettathur, Edavannappara, Panikkarapuraya, Kannathumpara, Ananthayur,Vazhayur Village- Karumakankavu,Azhinjilam,Karad,Ponnempadam,Thiruthyad, Iyyathingal,Mundakassery,Alungal,Kottupadam,Karad, Puthukode, Arekunnu,Parammal,Cheekode-Cheekode,Kolambalam, Nellar,Vavoor, Omanoor, Ponnad At present Vazhakkad Police Station is situated at Valillapuzha in Vazhakkad Village, on the northern side of Areacode- Kozhikode public road. The Police Station was opened on 12.03.1993 by Sri. E.T. Muhammed Basheer, Hon'ble Minister for Education, Kerala and started functioning in a reneted building (Darul Uloom) No.IV/614,RS No.300/05 of Vazhakakd Village,Eranad Taluk as per the GO No. (Rt).3157/92 on 08.07.1992. Then the station shifted on 18.07.10 in to another rented building ( the old building of Vazhakkad Grama Panchayath at Valillapuzha) ( VP VI/121 RS 12/2009.) since 18.07.2010 vide order No.GO (Rt) No.3210/2009/Home dated.30.10.09. The new building inaugurated by Sri. Elamaram Kareem, Hon'ble Inductrial Minister,Kerala.
