Vellarikundu Police Station
Vellarikkundu Police Station was opened on 04.08.1987 as per GO (MS) 1719/87-Home dated 04.06.1987 and shifted to new building on 12.08.1989 vide GO (Rt) No. 2281/Home/89 dated 16.05.1989. This station is sharing its border with Chittarikkal, Rajapuram, Nileshwaram and Ambalathara Police Stations. The station also shares border with Karnataka state. The border region is flourished with ever green forest. The hilly and verdurous landscape attracted not only naturalists but sight seers also. Most of the people inhabiting in the terrain are migrated from Kottayam district and other places of Karnataka years back. Apart from the occasionally happening political clashes the stain jurisdiction is free from communal riots which bulked up communal harmony and camaraderie among the rank and file. People belongs to various communities celebrate fairs and festivals in their religious centres which are abundant in the station limits.
The station building has a total land of 30 cents in RS No 112/11A1 in Balal village in Vellarikundu Taluk. There are no family quarters in Vellarikkundu PS. An extend of 10 cent land was offered to the Police station by the Little Flower ferona Church authorities. Construction of Family quarters is planning in this land.
